Mound

Hi,

I've just got back from a walk.
I was in the part of Mława called 'Wólka'.
Opposite the church there is Tadeusz Kościuszko's monument.
On the face of it , there’s nothing special: a lot of ground, memorial plaque and hatchets on top.
I walked over and read the words on the board.
It's not only 'mound', but there are pieces of ground from battle places where Tadeusz Kościuszko fought!
Like battle place of Saratoga, and Insurgent Fields (19.09-17.10.1777).
Mława citizens founded it in 1917.
A priest Ignacy Krajewski had an idea to build it to honour Tadeusz Kościuszko on his 100th death anniversary.
The Mound was reconstructed after II World War, but scarcely in 1984.
Few years ago the monument was renovated, It looks good.
Some ground inside, a memorial plaque, 2 hatchets and 3 scythes remains the same.

Daria .
